Ciao Roma is a family run Italian restaurant situated in the heart of Edinburgh.

Inspired by the endless fresh delicacies prepared by Nonna, Ciao Roma aims to bring a little slice of rural Italy to Edinburgh. Where the next dish was only ever a hop over the garden wall, scooped up from the surrounding, sprawling countryside. Her kitchen table was a place to connect to the important things in life. No matter the time of day, no matter how many people already crowded round the overflowing tables, everyone was welcome. Here’s to Nonna. 

Family run since 1990, Ciao Roma has made its reputation serving delicious, authentic Italian food. Established by two brothers, Franco and Fabio Martone, simple, fresh, quality produce is at the heart of every recipe. They lovingly combine this to experiment with classic Italian dishes, never afraid to make bold creative choices such as their Haggis Ravioli with whisky cream sauce.   

All their finest quality, home-made, traditional artisan pasta is produced on site at Ciao Roma as is their multiple award winning ice cream.

We are proud to announce that Ciao Roma has been nominated Italian Restaurant of the Year by readers of the Edinburgh Evening News in 2019.
